The schedule is available below, with entry form as the last page of the same document. Lots and lots of changes and anditions to the schedule this year, with extra classes and a whole new Worker Section.
Our nominated Charity this year is the Glasgow Branch of the RDA where we hold two winter shows each year. Please buy raffle tickets generously, and any donations would of course be gratefully received for this wondeful cause.
The Puddledub Spring Show 2014
My sincere apologies for the lateness of the schedule for the Spring Show, no excuse really, just distracted with the winter shows and other things, but I know have it ready for download, please click on the links below for the schedule and the Entry Form, which is a seperate document.
We have a few very significant chances this year ... firstly, and a rather big one, is a chance of venue. After 7 happy years at Ingliston we are now moving to Morris Equestrian Centre (formerly Rowallan), as with changes in direction at Ingliston they can no longer offer sufficient stabling for those travelling from further afield. At Morris we will have even bigger surfaces than before and can now run the classes that in last 2 years were in the evening back into the daytime schedule. There is plentiful stabling and bar and restaurant onsite to make the show easy and enjoyable. Details of how to contact Morris EC are within the schedule and all queries regarding stabling should be made direct with them.
As well as our longstanding classes of RIHS qualifying and Novice classes for Hunters, Hacks Cobs and Riding Horses, BSPS classes, M&Ms, CHAPS, Veteran etc we have added a few more classes this year. For those who do not wish to travel to HIckstead, or would like to enter an affiliated BSHA class without the expense of full membership and registration, we now offer Amateur Owner/Rider Hack, Cob and Riding Horse classes for those who are eligible, and like the Novice classes these can be entered on a 'day ticket'. Please check the BSHA Rule Book and/or website for eligibility for Amateur status.
We are also delighted to run a qualifying class for the new Kilmannan Ridden Heavy Horse Championships to be held at Equifest. This is open to Shires, Clydesdales, Percherons and Suffolks .... please support this exciting new class which promises to be quite a spectacle. Details are available on the The British Ridden Heavy Horse Society websaite.
We would also like to thank all those who have very kindly sponsored or pledged sponsored for classes at the Show, without which we would struggle to continue. All sponsors are recognised with a banner heading above each class within the schedule. Details of any further sponsorship opportunities are available within the schedule.
Details of the Pre-Entry numbers are available here http://puddledub.webs.com/- Schedules etc/Summary of pre-entries.pdf to help you plan your timings ... please free to encourage friends to enter some of the classes that are low on entries! We take entries on the day for all classes
Please have a look at the list of our wonderful sponsors, without whom a show such as this would not be able to survive, and we certainly couldn't offer such reason entry fees. http://puddledub.webs.com/- Schedules etc/SPONSORS.pdf
The Puddledub Winter Shows 2014
After a break (literally!) last year because I broke my leg, the Winter Shows are back on our calendar, with a few changes.
This year we are seeing how we go not being affiliated to BSPS, although this has worked well for us in the past we are seeing if being able to go back to grass roots, aim at more wide ranging audience, word our classes to suit and also to give young judges not yet on judging panels a chance to gain experience and extend their CVs.
Let us know what you think, and we will take this on board when planning for 2015
We have added some Inhand classes to our Fountain Show, and depending on how this go these could be included at Sandyflat next year. We are still looking for a suitable venue in the east central belt area, so if anyone has suggestions we will investigate suitability for arenas, parking, working in, access, cost etc
Dates and venues are as follows:
Sunday 16th February - Workers - Sandyflat RDA, Glasgow
Sunday 9th March - Inhand & Ridden - Fountain EC, Aberdeen
Sunday 23rd March - Ridden - Sandyflat RDA, Glasgow
The Link to the schedule, which includes the classes for all three shows, and all three entry forms. Please take note of which classes are available at which show.
Puddledub Spring Show 2013
Monday 6th May 2013 at Ingliston Equestrian Centre
After some major computer and internet problems over the last two or three I am hopefully now back on track and the schedule is now ready!!! As always we take a lot of trouble in selecting our judges and this often means it takes us a bit longer as we get recommendations and 'references' to ensure that whether you win or lose, that you feel your horses has been ridden well
The schedule is almost identical to last year, the only class changes is the loss of the Ridden Clydesdales as they have sadly been very poorly attended and the addition of the extra height M&M WHP to make 4 classes in theOpen section. As with last year, we again offer evening classes for M&Ms, Coloured, Veterans, Arabs and Ex-Racehorses.
Pop the date in your diary and don't panic about entries, they dont close 'til the 20th April and we also take entries on the day.
Click on the following the links to download the schedule and entry form ... both are in pdf format
Puddledub Summer Show
Sunday 12 August
at Brechin Castle, Angus
incorporating the Bonnyton Shows and Scotland in Colour
There will be a raffle in aid of Scottish Grass Sickness Fund and a donation will also be made from Show revenue. Any donations of prizes for the raffle would be gratefully received.
Change of judge for Veterans and CHAPS classes. We thank Mrs Pamela Duker, Yorkshire for stepping in at short notice due to the scheduled judge suffering a family bereavement.
We are so excited about this new show with 89 inhand and ridden classs for a really wide range of horses and ponies but with extensive Arab and Coloured sections. All class winners will receive an etched glass to keep and all Champions will receive an enamelled aluminium stable door plaque to take home with them.
After a mammoth task, we now have the schedule finalised and it can be downloaded by clicking on the link below
Would love to hear from anyone who is unable to compete but may be able to help steward or lots of other jobs around the show.
Well, what a show! Apart from a small handful of classes, all were well filled and with some stunning animals. First horse in the main arena at 8am for the Ladies Hunter and the last horses came out of the Evening Performance classes at 9.30pm with both judges awarding their final Championship rosettes almost simutaneously!
A big thank you to all judges, stewards, helpers and of course competitors for bringing their lovely horses and ponies.

Photographs were taken by Sinclair Photgraphy, click on http://www.sinclairphotography.co.uk and then go to to the Puddledub album in the gallery listing (not Equestrian Shows) where you will find two albums for the Spring Show; one for Daytime classes and one for the Evening classes and all very comveniented listed by class so you easily find the photos you want.
We unfortunately have a change of judge for our show on 7th May. Maxine Bevan-Jones was due to judge the Show Ponies, Show Hunter Ponies and Intermediates. She has a long awaited hip replacement brought forward and while in recovery can obviously not stand for long periods at the moment. She will hopefully judge for us at Ingliston in future years, and we hope she makes a quick and easy recovery and in the meantime look forward to her judging CHAPS and Veterans at our Summer Show at Brechin on 12 August.
We are very grateful to Mr Walter Bowie for stepping in to judge these classes for us. We will confirm very shortly who will judge the Partbred/Anglo and Purebred Arab classes.
Puddledub Spring Show 2012
The schedule is now ready for the Spring Show to be held at Ingliston EC on Bank Holiday Monday 7th May 2012
Take a close look as we have made quite a few changes this year; splitting the Show Pony classes to three height, the M&M Working Hunter Ponies to three heights and the M&M Ridden to 2 classes with a generous promise to split further if enough of any one breed forward. We have also re-introduced the Veteran classes with a full schedule of 3 inhand and 3 ridden classes, added an Advanced Nursery Stakes class, Novice Show Ponies and Novice SHPs and two new Working Hunter classes with qualifiers for both the RC and Open Blair Castle finals.
We once again have Ridden Clydesdale and Ex-Racehorse classes dispite having low entries in previous years ... please support these classes to enable us to continue holding them.
In another exciting move this year, we have also moved all the classes that were previously held in the outdoor grass arena into the Main Indoor Arena as evening performance classes, so an excellent excuse to get your smart togs dusted off and where society rules permit, don your top hat!
We thank our generous sponsors; Angela Rose, Lindsay McCulloch, Vicky Campbell, Rosslayne Stud and Mu Reed, without such support it would be difficult to hold this show. Anyone who wishes to sponsor still has ample opportunity and class sponsorship starts at £25 - please email us or give us a quick phone.

Puddledub Winter Shows 2012
We have condensed our Winter calendar a bit this year, reducing the number from 5 to 3 as 2011 proved to perhaps have too many shows for the weather conditions and economic climate.
Ideal Shows for the young horse/pony and for those dipping their toes in the showring for the first time.
Low-key, fun with rosettes to sixth place and fun little prizes for all class winners
Dates for your diary are:
Sunday 19th February 2012 - 'Flat' Show at Fountain EC, Dyce, Aberdeen
Sunday 26th February 2012 - 'Worker' Show at Sandyflat RDA, Glasgow
Sunday 25th March 2012 - 'Flat' Show at Sandyflat RDA, Glasgow
Puddledub Spring Show 2011
Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd May 2011
(Royal Wedding Weekend)
Apologies to all for the delay in availability of the schedule, but I have had quite a bit of trouble finalising the judges this year. However, we have, once again, got a fabulous team of judges to oversee your classes across all sections and we hope that you will pop along/down/up to Ingliston Country Club and Equestrian Centre to show us your wonderful horses and ponies and try your hand at qualifiying for a multitude of Finals and Championships
New this year are Qualifiers for the new Retrained Racehorse Final at the Royal Highland Show in 2012 and the Ladies Hunter has once again returned to our schedule. We are also trying a new ring format outside, with the Workers now being judged in the Grass arena where the natural terrain will give far more scope to a true Graham Barclay course. The 'Flat' and Inhand classes previously judged there will move to the International Outdoor all-weather arena and depending on how this runs this year we are contemplating introducing an inhand ring in 2012 thus further extending our comprehensive schedule.
Sadly we have had to drop the Veterans this year, as we were unable to find a judge without having to bring them a huge distance which sadly is not viable ..... hopefully the VHS will follow the example of CHAPS and bring a lot more judges onto the Scottish Panel to assist shows ... we hope these classes will return to our schedule once more in 2012.
Another new addition this year, and for a bit of light-hearted fun, we are introducing a Fun Dog Show for your canine lorry companions. Entries for this will be taken on the field on the day and we hope your pooches of all shapes and sizes will enjoy the opportunity to match their equine friends in returning home laden in rosettes!
The schedule and entry form are available to download here as pdf documents:
We are well aware that the cost of diesel may affect many competitors plans for this season, with many of you quite predictably rationing the number of shows you attend. With the economic situation in mind, Entry Fees (other than the RIHS qualifiers where the Levy has been increased by 50p) have not been raised. We sincerely hope that Puddledub Spring Show will be one that is high on list of choices. The venue is unsurpassable and the facilities on offer to those who stable and stay overnight make it so much more than just a show and an opportunity to qualify for your Finals of choice, but is a miniature holiday with some of the best show stabling on the circuit at the incredibly good value cost of £20 per stable per night. Treat yourselves to a show experience that you will remember vividly 'til the end of the year, and join us on the May Day Bank Holiday Monday.
Many thanks to the following Sponsors:
Mrs Mu Reed
The McCulloch Family - RIHS Riding Horses
Miss Angela Rose (in memory of Pendley Scintilation) - RIHS Hacks

New classes introduced this year in both the Worker and 'Flat' schedules, as well as a new venue in Aberdeenshire. The Worker shows will continue to run the Clear Round Training classes which have proved so popular in the past for introducing new partnerships and 'baby' horses and ponies to natural fences without the pressure of competition. Choose any height of fences to gain confidence before the competitive classes.

Report on Sandyflat Worker Show - 31 January 2010
The Worker Show at Sandyflat on 31 January saw a nice entry of ponies making the first opportunity to get out and about following all the snow of late. The Training class proved very popular with many combinations finding it ideal to remove some rusty edges, get to know a new pony or allow babies their first experience at jumping a whole course for the first time.
Many thanks to all those who turned out on crisp but sunny day and supported this show, judges, stewards, helpers and competitors as well as quite a few spectators.
The Spring Show was a huge success, dispite miserable rainy weather for those competing in the outside rings. Tremendous entries in the RIHS qualifiers set the day off with many tickets going to Scottish competitors. A full list of results can be downloaded Spring Show Results
A full list of Catalogued Class Entries is also available and a list of Entries on the day will be available shortly.
Colin and Lois Nicholas of Equinational were again taking high quality photographs.
